Limitations

How can I be happy for a friend who fell in love with a married man? How can you comfort her when she feels down about the choices she made? How can you support such when she too knows that it’s wrong to be a home wrecker?

At one point or another I could only say so much. I may always say what I want but I know when not to give my opinion. I may say things that could hurt but believe it or not--I have tried my best not to! Just maybe reality really bites most of the time. I am not clean and me too have done mistakes in the past but never I have experienced falling for someone who is already married. It would not make any difference if he will tell me that he is no longer happy with the marriage and it was the biggest mistake he ever done—lines like that won’t attract me still.

The only thing I could do is listen and sit beside her.

This story is no longer new to the world but to have not just one friend who chose to be a mistress is no joke. I knew the fact that they know what they have entered but I guess not really realizing the bigger picture. As a friend, I could only remind them but never being a self-righteous. Knowing how to respect doesn’t mean I am already supporting their choices.

I know they would tell me that all they could do is just enjoy every moment they havebut when you come to think of it, its very impossible that they don’t hope even just a little hope that someday they would end up together. I guess no one enters a relationship thinking that it will end. I believe that if the person is already married with someone else, its very clear that that person is not really meant for you because if he is—he should have met you long before.

I am coming from somewhere and I guess the best thing I told her was, “I am a product of a broken family too. I am no difference to those kids that you are trying to steal the life to live with a normal family set-up. " I may sound trying to get to their conscience but I guess more so, I am being a friend who always believes that someone deserves someone that can give them the love that can make them proud to shout it and let the whole world know!
